Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Avireum is a private, ad-free home for your family. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Avireum is operated by Avireum LLC, a limited liability company formed in Wyoming, USA. When this policy says “we,” “us,” or “Avireum,” it means Avireum LLC. You can reach us about privacy at support@avireum.com or by mail at 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.

The short version

Avireum is a private place for families. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and your family tree is not public or visible to search engines. We collect only what we need to run the service, we keep it within your family circle, and you can export or delete your data at any time. The sections below explain the details.

Information we collect

Account information you give us when you sign up — such as your name and email address — and any profile details you choose to add (photo, date of birth, where you live).

Family content you create — the relatives you add and how they are related, along with names, dates, places, photos, memories, announcements, messages, and similar information you enter about your family. Some of this is information about other people; see “Information about other people” below.

Technical information needed to operate and secure the service — for example basic log and device data, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and maintain Avireum: to build and display your family tree, deliver invitations, messages, announcements, and notifications you ask for, resolve the places you enter into approximate map locations, keep the service secure, respond to your requests, and comply with our legal obligations. We do not use your family content to train advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.

How your information is shared

With your family. The whole point of Avireum is to share within your circle, so the content you add is visible to the members of the family tree(s) you belong to, according to the visibility settings you choose.

With service providers who help us run Avireum, under agreements that limit them to that purpose — for example our database and hosting providers (Supabase and Vercel), our email-delivery provider, and OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service, which we query to turn place names into approximate map coordinates.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers.

Information about other people

Family trees are, by nature, about other people. When you add a relative or upload details about them, you confirm that you have a legitimate family reason to do so. Please be thoughtful about what you record about living relatives, and respect anyone who asks not to be included. If you are a family member who would like information about you corrected or removed, contact us at support@avireum.com and we will help.

Children’s privacy

Avireum is intended for adults building a family record. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create their own independent accounts. A family tree may, of course, include children as members of the family — that information is added and managed by the responsible adults on the tree. If you believe a child has created an account without appropriate consent, contact us and we will address it.

Keeping your information, and deleting it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can export your data and close your account from your account settings at any time. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information, subject to any limited records we must keep for legal or security reasons. Content you contributed to shared family records may remain part of the family’s history, shown under your name as a past contributor rather than a linked account.

How we protect your information

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and database-level security rules that limit data to the family members entitled to see it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your family’s information safe and to address any issues promptly.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain uses. Avireum gives you direct tools for the most common of these — editing your profile, exporting your data, and deleting your account — in your settings. For any other request, or if you are in a region with additional rights (such as the EU/UK under GDPR or California under the CCPA/CPRA), contact us at support@avireum.com and we will respond as required by law.

International users

Avireum is operated from the United States, and your information is processed there and in the regions where our service providers operate. If you access Avireum from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, let you know within the app. Your continued use of Avireum after an update means you accept the revised policy.
